One America Plaza is the tallest building in San Diego, California and a prominent fixture in San Diego's skyline. Located in the waterfront district of Downtown San Diego, One America Plaza is a thirty-four story, obelisk-shaped tower standing 500 feet tall, designed by architects Helmut Jahn of Murphy/Jahn Architects and Krommenhoek/McKeown & Associates. The top of the building bears a striking resemblance to the end of a Phillips-head screwdriver.
General Coatings Corporation was contracted to recoat the structural steel, roof panels and “T” support bars on the building’s roof formation. Safety was paramount to our team’s success while executing the specifications that were determined for the project. Our experienced Safety Team conducted Training programs for Fall Protection, Boatswain Chair, Hazardous Material Disposal, Scaffold Hazard Awareness, Fit Test Certification for Respiratory Protection, and was 100% compliant with all OSHA required programs. |
